Finding an agent
So, for the full-timers, the main part is done. Some have already finished their novels, though I'm not one of them. But, I thought it would be useful to go ahead and try to find agents. It's supposed to take months, and with the stockmarket crashing already, well, it'll be tough.
A few words of advice from one guy, Matthew Carnicelli, might help us:
Ask yourself: Why am I the only one who can write this book? What are my unique credentials? How will my book be different from the many other books already published on this subject? What is my big idea, why is it relevant, and why will people want to read about it?"
Otherwise, he won't even bother reading the query. I like him, and am drafting a query right now that seems to answer those questions www.carnicellilit.com
